Sustainable caring for native plants from seed to established Forage Forest

Event Summary:

Day 1: We will be moving native plants and setting up sustainable watering infrastructure (water mats with a wicking system) which will help us to greatly reduce the water needed to care for the plants that we grow for restoration projects and for individuals to plant in their homes. Day 2: We Will be weeding, mulching and caring for the Nutsamaat Forage Forest.

Practical Details:

Participants should come prepared for the weather in comfortable clothes and shoes that they can get dirty. Please bring your own drinking water and all food needed. Friday you will have access to potable water but there will be no snacks. Galiano is only accessible by ferry so please plan accordingly with the ferry schedule. There is the potential for camping available for participants that want to do both days. Those who are interested can email nursery@galianoconservancy.ca for details.
