Event Summary:
Celebrate Make a Difference week this year as we spruce up the trails at Guemes Mountain after a long winter. During this work party we will carry and spread gravel, clip back vegetation that is obscuring the trail, clear fallen limbs and trees, and rake the trail. No prior trail experience is required, just a desire to get some work done outdoors! During the work party, we will walk the approximately 2.5 miles roundtrip of trail up the mountain, spreading gravel, clipping back vegetation and raking as we go. Staff may operate weedwhackers and/or chainsaws but will keep their distance from volunteers to reduce safety hazard and noise. The day's activities will involve carrying buckets or wheelbarrow of gravel, bending and picking up small to medium sized vegetation.
