Clearing beach garbage, Seine netting for coho salmon smolts

Practical Details:

Where/When: Meet at Regatta Point Park on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at 9:30am (there is limited parking at the end of Central Spur Road) Details: We will divide you up into groups and you will be then sent out to collect garbage. Those with watercraft will be assigned beaches on the opposite shore (weather and water conditions permitting). We will then conduct some seine netting demonstrations to collect fish in the estuary, including coho salmon smolts. Rubber or waterproof boots are recommended as it is a muddy shoreline. We will supply gloves, garbage grabbers, and garbage bags. Please dress for the weather as we will be working rain or shine and bring a water bottle. RSVP is required!!
