Event Summary:
There are no magic solutions or universal formulas for the recovery of degraded or destroyed ecosystems, but there are key considerations that can determine the success of restoration processes in any type of ecosystem. The declaration of the Decade for Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) by the United Nations in 2019 has succeeded in increasing interest, funding, and efforts at different levels to achieve ecological and associated community recovery on a global scale. In this seminar, I will present as a decalogue some important aspects that can be considered for good practices in ecosystem restoration by decision-makers, funders, restoration practitioners, academics, and communities, and thus improve the chances of obtaining a comprehensive recovery at the socio-ecological level.
