Find an Event
Event Summary:
Come learn how we make controlled crosses to breed blight resistance into American chestnut trees! You will learn how to identify chestnuts, the anatomy of male and female chestnut flowers, how to recognize the appropriate times to collect and use pollen, as well as storage tips. This is a great event to attend if you’d like to make your own American chestnut crosses, or help with pollination when we get to the restoration phase! Once you arrive at the address, you'll see a sign for 'Tenn Tech Lab' by the road. Take the entrance to the east (to the right if you're coming from the south), and after approximately 0.1 miles, you will reach the orchard, which is on the left side and visible from the road.
