Shark River Island Marsh Planting

Shark River Island Restoration Site
Neptune City, NJ, United States

Date & Time:
June 10, 2022 | 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (Local Timezone)

Event Summary:

It has been almost a year since ECOncrete and the American Littoral Society partnered together to create a hybrid living shoreline consisting of a sill, concrete mattresses, marsh, and vegetated berm needed to restore a heavily eroded marsh on the northwestern corner of Shark River Island. With the help of Renova and with funding from the Seaview Condo Association, Neptune City, and TNC; the initial phase of this hybrid living shoreline was completed in the summer of 2021. It's time for Phase 2. For this event, we will be planting up to 700 Spartina plugs, spot planting grassses and shrubs, removing weed cloth, and resetting goose deterrence netting.
