Event Summary:
Kabunda Community is a sand mining area where most households have lost their agricultural land due to Artisanal sand quarrying. Care for Nature Zambia has been working with sand miners in this Community on land Reclamation and they have since started gardening and fish farming as a way of diversifying from sand mining and repairing degraded land. This Make a Difference Week, we shall work with sand miners to plant fruits trees along the gardens that the Community has made as part of restoring the degraded land. We shall also stock fish in one of the ponds established by the sand miners.
