Event Summary:
Let’s link the Strandveld Circle to the sea! By planting Endangered Cape Flats Dune Strandveld flora along the popular Zandvlei Estuary we’ll be creating much-needed habitat for coastal wildlife. This is an important waterbird nesting area, but is also home to a multitude of other animals including insects, landbirds and even the occasional otter and porcupine! The rehabilitation of the vlei margin will provide them with food, shelter and improved opportunities for interbreeding. Our ultimate goal is to plant alongside the entire Zandvlei walkway with a view to connecting the terrestrial nature reserve and the beach. Join us to make a start! We’ll meet at the educational Strandveld Circle adjacent 57 Promenade Rd, Muizenberg and be planting from 10h00-13h00 from 9-10 June.
