Planting and Tending Wetland Trees

Event Summary:

Come help plant and tend to wetland, floodplain, and riparian trees in the 365 acre Saint Michael's College Natural Area. Join SMC profs Trevien Stanger and Declan McCabe as they lead a team into the heart of the Natural Area-- the rich floodplain of the lower Winooski River. There we will visit multiple restoration sites, tend to some recently planted trees, and then plant a few of our own.

Practical Details:

Please meet at Merrell Cemetary off of Rt 15 (across from Saint Michael's College) and plan for up to a mile of walking on uneven terrain. Please also wear pants, good work shoes or boots, and be ready for a full two hours outdoors.
