Event Summary:
CITTED (Centro de investigación, transferencia tecnológica y educación para el desarrollo) is an experimental farm and research center, located in northern Costa Rica. It is managed and owned by Universidad Estatal a Distancia UNED and from 2022 the Red Estudiantil de Restauración Ecológica UNED (RERE) is working with neighbours, students and professors in different fields related to ecological restoration. For MADW 2022, we are going to be teaching about ecological restoration, working in the plant nursery, collecting seed, planting native trees, controlling invasive grass, and promoting the decade for ecological restoration to the community, students, professors, and researchers.
Practical Details:
Equipment, food, and materials are provided by CITTED-RERE-UNED. Coverage of the event will include radio, local TV, and local newspapers. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended, as well as hats and sunscreen. Transport is included to the different activities in or outside CITTED.
COVID-19 Protocols:
Alcohol and soap are provided, mask is mandatory for in door activities or during transportation. Complete vaccination scheme is necessary to attend this event.
