Invasive Plant Removal by Friends of North Saanich Parks-Green Park

Event Summary:

On June 4th volunteers will dig and remove English ivy, Daphne, H. Blackberry, Laurel, and other invasive plants in Green Park located off Salal Place. The long narrow park extends to Swartz Bay Road in North Saanich BC. The event duration is 10-2pm. The volunteers should bring gloves, lunch, beverages and their own tools if they have them. Otherwise the Society always provides a full range of tools, bins, tarps and other materials as well as homemade muffins for each event they hold. At noon on June 4th we will have an speaker as a special feature. This park has been worked in for approximately 1.5 years. All interested persons are welcome and novices will be given lessons in invasive plant identification and removal. Our website is: www.fnsp.ca

Practical Details:

Please wear study shoes and dress in layers for the weather.
