Event Summary:
The children of Homy School will conduct a citizen science and regreening event over two days in their school grounds. They will learn the importance of citizen science, clearing invasive species (and how to identify them), and planting native tree species (and how to identify them and their uses). They will also learn about impact monitoring (kilos of weeds collected, number of trees planted) and long-term care of their trees.
Practical Details:
The activity will be supervised by a school commitee and teachers, and requirements for the day will be shared closer to the time. The children will need to wear outdoors clothes, shoes and hats.
COVID-19 Protocols:
The event will follow the school Covid protocol, including mask wearing, hand wasking, and temperature checks.
