Kennes Watershed Riparian invasive species removal and tour

Event Summary:

Join us for a sunny afternoon of hands-on restoration! We'll be removing reed canary grass and thistle, laying down solarization mats to suppress regrowth, tending to a newly seeded camas plot, watering native riparian plants, and offering a guided tour for new participants. Come see the thriving riparian zone and explore the newly created off-channel habitat!

Practical Details:

Address is 1049 MT Newton Cross Road. You will turn off Mt Newton, see a church on the left and a gravel road forking off to the right. Take the gravel road to the right, drive along the farmers field, take a left at the T junction, continue on that gravel road as it goes straight and then curves left then right before ending at a fenced in area with a port a potty. Park there and walk down the field to the planting site. Wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions and bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided.
