Come join us at beautiful East Sooke Regional Park, a premiere hiking destination in the Capital Regional District (CRD), to help remove some invasive Scotch broom that is encroaching on the open fields in the park. Later you can enjoy a hike along the scenic and rugged Coast Trail and experience some West Coast wilderness, or picnic at the pocket beach at Aylard Farm. One thing for certain, you won't be disappointed.
Meet at the Aylard Farm parking lot off Becher Bay Road.. All of tools (clippers, loppers) and equipment (safety vest, gloves, safety glasses, kneelers) will be provided along with some pocket snacks and refreshments. Please remember to bring a filled water bottle, additional water will be provided to fill water bottles. Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. To avoid scratches from the plant material, it is best to wear pants and a light, long-sleeved shirt.
